Other details: Tile with impressed geometrical pattern of intersecting arcs. Traces of glaze. 4.7 inches square. On the back is a note: Four tiles from the altar of St Paul's chapel. Supposed to be coeval with the buildings AD 1190. Signed 1825 Maguire. See Oldliam's Ancient Irish tiles Plate 1. Broad indented lines (left white). Orange yellow glaze all over. See rubbing 4 1/2. inches square straight sides. Thickness 210 mm (Irene Hore).
