Other details: In pencil: The arms on this tile viz. six crosslets fitchee, 3, 2 and 1 cannot with certainty be allotted to any family and are probably obsolete. The most likely surmise is that, in some indirect manner they represented some collateral branch of the Mortimers of Richard's Castle. In a deed dated AD 1289 Mr Blount noted the seat of the above family bearing gules - six crosslets or between 2 bars vaire the bars belonging to Saye. See Glazebrook's Heraldry of Worcester note p 388.
